Synopsis

The photography is confounding: on occasion we see disturbing “shabby” shots itemizing grisly scenes and injured animals (update: “Jaws” was discharged two years sooner) yet the general cinematography is caught pleasantly, demonstrating the tremendous, chilly oceanic seaside area that gives the both the setting and the state of mind. The irritating signature tune is exceptional, as it mirrors a portion of the miserable, vocal tones produced by the orcas themselves. The story line is to some degree adolescent (think “Street Runner” kid’s shows) yet where the film gets us is that once in a while has a “man versus brute” story been told with such unfortunate feeling. The vast majority of us know about the high acumen of the executioner whale, yet not very many have set out to demonstrate their passionate side. Miserable, grasping, and hard to watch, this current film’s reward is to end up more familiar with these astounding ocean warm blooded creatures.
